Trying to be Creative

St. Patricks Day 2011

St Patricks day is usually just another day, but recently I have been trying to make it more fun for the kids. We started the day off all decked out in green!

Of course the leprechaun paid us a visit and had fun turning everything green, including the toilet!

We had a yummy green breakfast with green pancakes, green whip cream, green milk, and green butter! I also packed the kids a very green lunch!

Later that night we had a green dinner, and afterwards the kids were sent on a scavenger hunt where they got lots of gold and of course some more green!

And to top it all off we had a very yummy rainbow cake for dessert. Happy St. Patty's Day!

 

Abby's Big Day

Abby was baptized on March 4th 2011! What an exciting day for our family! She had tons of family that was able to come and share in her big day, but because I was trying to make everything perfect I forgot to take hardly any pictures. We had a hard time choosing the perfect dress, but I love the one we ended up with! It's hard to see in the picture but there was tons of detail. I made some fabric flowers that we added also some pearls and extra lace. It was all white with ivory accents! I would have loved to get a picture of her in her dress with her hair down, but once again I'm a slacker and didn't think about it.

Abby was so excited that day! You could see how happy she was all day! She was also very surprised how many people came to see her get baptized I never would have thought it would make such a huge impression on her but that was all she kept talking about!

The primary presidency brought her over a white towel with her name on it.  They also had a bunch of index cards in a little box that all Abby's guest's could write her a little message on while we waited for her to change her clothes. What a great idea, she thought that was so neat she loved reading through them that night.

We had a huge party after the baptism with all Abby's friends and family. She received so many special gifts and also a journal that she has been writing in. Gram and Papa are famous for these cute little candy bar posters and she was so glad it was finally her turn to get one!

We are so proud of Abby's decision to get baptized! She is growing up so fast and it's fun watching her make such good choices and being such a great example! Love you girl!

I Gotta Start Somewhere

A couple weeks ago I went to take a picture and Kaiden said "Why Bother, you never update the blog anymore!" So I made a promise to myself to finally catch up. I guess I will start way back in February 2011!

Abby's 8th Birthday!

 Because Abby was turning 8 and going to be Baptized we decided to just have a family party. We surprised Abby and started the day with a drive up to Park City for some bowling and dinner.

 After bowling we went and ate at one of our favorites The Loco Lizard. Abby got to wear a sombrero, and Kaiden had to give it a try too!

After a fun long day we spent the night at the Homestead resort and did some swimming! The next morning we headed over to Soldier Hollow to do some tubing. It was a blast! Abby loved every minute of it!

We ended the day back at home and opened up some presents! What a fun weekend!

New Years Eve

So we celebrated New Years Eve Haun Style again! We went to Grandma and Grandpa Haun's for some all night games, fun, and food! We danced the night away playing Just Dance 2, we played some hardcore games of poker, and we rang in the new year with lots of noise makers and streamers! What a great year we had! We stayed busy with sports, school, tumbling, piano, vacations, and all that other crazy stuff that keeps you busy! Hopefully this year I will find more motivation to keep this blog updated! We have lots of fun things planned this year, and still many blog posts to catch up on, so check back every once in a while and hopefully there just might be a new blog post!I had more pictures but for some reason it's not letting me add them right now, grrrrrr....

Christmas Morning

Moving on to Christmas morning. Sure enough Santa did visit us despite all the threats from mom and dad. Madi has been in love with Glee lately {mostly Finn} so for Christmas she got lots of fun Glee stuff. The entire first season of Glee on dvd.And from one of our favorite episodes the Grilled Cheesus shirt! She also got a new digital camera. She was in heaven, the face says it all!!Kaiden is growing up so quick. Gone are the days when he wanted Hot Wheels, Nerf guns, and Rescue Hereos. He really wasn't sure what he wanted this year, and his wish list was always changing. He never asked for it, but he sure was excited when he opened an Ipod touch!
Abby was lots of fun this year. She really didn't want much, but at the top of her list were Monster High dolls, a Lalaloopsy doll, and an Easy Bake oven!The kids took their time Christmas morning. It was nice we usually rush to get to another party, but this year we just said we will come when were ready, and it was by far one of my favorite Christmas mornings!Christmas afternoon we head out to to Grandma and Grandpa Haun's house for more presents and fun!Britt and her new camera, in her UgLy ChRiStMaS sweater!

Grandma Haun gave all the girls Just Dance 2 for Christmas. It is one of our favorite games, it is so fun to play and to watch! Christmas was so much fun this year. We spent time with family and friends. We spent time with our kids making sure they knew what Christmas was all about. We took toys to toys for tots. We celebrated Birthdays, went to lots of movies, looked at lots of lights, did way to much shopping and wrapping, went to many Christmas parties, and enjoyed lots of time at home with our little family! Christmas In April

I'm back.....again! I guess it's better late than never. Christmas this year was so much fun! We tried to maintain all our Christmas traditions, and even started some new ones! We made lots of Christmas crafts to keep the kids busy, and did lots of baking!
We made snow globes, Christmas socks, ornaments, angels out of hershey kisses, and of course we made our traditional gingerbread houses, {I forgot to take a picture of them before the kids started to eat them} but they were super cute!
Another tradition of ours is to go and visit Santa at the Kampers house. This year we could only convince Kaiden and Abby to go, but when we got there Kaiden would not get out of the car so it was just Abby and Dad in the picture!
We had so many Christmas party's this year but one of my favorites is the Christmas eve party with my mom's side of the family!

Back at the home front, we watched my all time favorite movie A Christmas Story, and set out cookies and milk for Santa! Then it was off to bed.
