VaLeNtInEs DaY!

Look what just happened to show up on my doorstep! We had decided not to get each other any thing this year and just spend the day together, but of course my husband never listens and surprised me with these!I know, I'm a lucky gal! I was very surprised, and thought he did a nice job of mixing in the pink and red! Saturday we had plans to go and see Home School Musical up at the dessert Star theatre, then to dinner and then a movie. Needless to say none of our plans quite worked out as planned. I called to get tickets on Thursday morning for the comedy show, and whoops they were all sold out until Monday. I know, I know, poor planning on my part I should have known. So we decided just to take the kids to my parents and go to dinner and a movie. We headed out early, got to PF Chang's at about 4:30, and guess what? All booked up unless you have a reservation {more poor planning on my part, I should have known!} We knew at that point everywhere would be packed if you didn't already have reservations, so we settled on Cafe Rio, and the movie Taken {very good, you must see} We still had a very fun day, and my mom and dad let the kids sleep over, so it was nice to spend some time together with just us!

Every year we always have a Valentines dinner with the kids. We have heart shaped pizza, sparkling apple cider, and a dessert, usually chocolate covered strawberries or something fun like that! We also make it a candlelit dinner and serve the cider in champagne glasses. The kids love it and have so much fun. This year we let my parents do the dinner with the kids because they were sleeping over. So I don't have any pictures, but they said it was fun!The kids got their traditional heart shaped cakes with their name on it from my parents, and we did a little bag full of treats with a giant Hersey Kiss {that Kaiden finished off in 2 days} and a big sugar cookie from us! We kept things pretty simple this year, but had a blast!

Tiff, I have totally been out of the loop the last few days. There is a lot going on with our little Dawson. I can't tell you what good that little saying on the top of your blog just did for me! It IS exactly how I feel.

I will post more about it on my blog soon. Don't be worried. There is the greatest feeling with us right now. We have so much peace while we wait for the "time" to come!

Today is just another reason why I am so glad you found my blog and we reconnected!

How cute. Aren't sweet husbands the best. And I know about the poor planning part. We tried to go to Market Street grill, completely booked up. We can't expect the husbands to do everything now, can we? I've seen Taken, it is so good.
